The Off-Facebook Activity Tool

The Off-Facebook Activity Tool is described by Facebook as “a summary of activity that businesses and organisations provide with us regarding your interactions, such as visiting their apps or websites.”
They share this information with us through our business tools, such as Facebook Login or Facebook Pixel.

If you haven’t already, you should look at the list of applications and websites that have shared your activity with Facebook.
Additionally, you can see how many of your “interactions” have been recorded as well as the most recent time that their trackers have seen you.
Any action, like as clicking a link or adding something to your shopping basket, is considered an interaction.
PayPal, LinkedIn, Hulu, Spotify, TikTok, StubHub, DoorDash, and other well-known apps and websites are among those that share your information with Facebook.

The posting of your favourite workouts in your workout app is an example of off-Facebook activity.
Facebook can target relevant health-related adverts that would fit your requirements and lifestyle using this information. Strange, huh?

Log into your Facebook account, choose Settings & Privacy, and then click on Settings to disable the Off-Facebook Activity function. Please select Your Facebook Information from the left column.To access and manage your off-Facebook activity, click Manage Your Off-Facebook Activity.
You won’t receive targeted adverts from those websites once you disable this tool since Facebook will no longer have access to the websites you visit.

Manage your Ad Preferences if you’d like more control over the advertisements you view.
Select Ads under Settings.

Click Advertisers and Businesses under Your Ad Preferences.
You can control which businesses are permitted to show you advertising from this point.

Go to Settings, click on Your Facebook Information, then choose Deactivation and Deletion if this information led you to decide to completely delete Facebook.
Despite keeping your data for at least 90 days, Facebook deletes your account after 30 days.
In the terms of service for Facebook.
“Immediate deletion is not possible owing to technological restrictions,” it states (in which case, your content will be deleted within a maximum of 90 days from when you delete it).

In which case, the content will be retained for no longer than is necessary for the purpose (the exact duration will vary on a case-by-case basis).

This licence will remain in effect in each of the aforementioned scenarios until the content has been completely removed.
