According to a recent revelation by GSM Arena, a reputable leaker disclosed that Samsung is preparing to introduce its forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 with an enhanced model of the recently unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

According to the leaker known as Ice Universe, the well-known phone manufacturer will be using a Qualcomm chip with a higher frequency in its upcoming flagship model.

According to the well-known leaker, the famed South Korean juggernaut will be the only one to have access to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a higher frequency.

The Samsung-only Snapdragon chip can actually run at up to 3.36 GHz. In its news report, GSM Arena points out that other phone manufacturers can only reach 3.2 GHz.

But in addition to having a faster CPU, the Samsung Galaxy S23 processor is said to have a better GPU than its non-Samsung counterpart.

The Samsung-Only Qualcomm Chip Also Boasts a Faster GPU

It turns out that the Qualcomm flagship chipset for the Samsung Galaxy S23 not only has a faster CPU, as reported in a news article by Sam Mobile. Instead, it apparently also sports an improved GPU.

The GPU speed of the Samsung-only Snapdragon CPU is said to reach up to 719 MHz. The ordinary version, however, was only capable of operating at about 680 Mhz.

As a result, it appears that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the South Korean phone manufacturer’s next flagship model delivers faster clock rates for its CPU and GPU.

In the same article, Sam Mobile points out that Qualcomm has already introduced a unique variant of its flagship chip that features faster clock speeds.

In reality, earlier models achieved this as well, including the Snapdragon 855. However, the improved model made its debut under a distinctive name, the Snapdragon 855+.

The identity of the rumored chip that would power the upcoming Samsung flagship is still unknown, though.

It is still unknown how the Samsung-exclusive processor compares to its standard counterpart because it has not yet been released.
