You can either wait for your phone to pop up an alert telling you that iOS 16 is available, or you can manually force the update.

Select Settings > General > Software Update from the menu. Either you’ll be instantly redirected to Download and Install or you’ll need to press Upgrade to iOS 16 at the bottom of the screen before you can Download and Install.
